2021-11-29 – LH2 – OC2 – Kriyas Shema SheAl HaMitah 2 – Part 2 – Siyum OC2 – Chanukah – Hashem Loves Honesty

Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon. This halakha is based on Likutey Moharan 35. “Hashem yearns for the truth.”
00:00 – By reciting the Shema at night before going to sleep, we declare our faith in the Unity of Hashem.
15:28 – Viduy (confession) is a powerful expression of truth.
18:00 – When a person prepares for sleep through reciting Kriyas Shema, their sleep is healthy and restores them physically and spiritually
22:40 – Chanukah is celebrated during the longest nights of the year.
25:37 – Kriyas Shema al ha mitah prevents and repairs the sin of zera l’vatala (wasting seed), which begins in thought.
27:57 – Thought is repaired through sleep. Kriyas shema al hamitah is one of the most powerful antidotes for this sin.
*36:04 – Tehillim/Psalms 51 was said as viduy (confession) by Dovid Hamelech (King David). Hashem loves honesty.
38:46 – בְּיָֽדְךָ֘ אַפְקִ֪יד ר֫וּחִ֥י פָּדִ֖יתָה אוֹתִ֥י יְ֜הֹוָ֗ה אֵ֣ל אֱמֶֽת: “Into Your Hand I entrust my spirit; You have redeemed me, O Lord, G-d of truth..” (Tehillim/Psalms 31:6) The last word from a person’s lips before they go to sleep at night is “emes” – truth.
41:08 – Hashkiveynu.
44:06 – The essence of teshuvah (returning to Hashem) is repairing thought.
