Hilkhos Gittin 3 is based on Likutey Moharan 61.
00:00 – PARAGRAPH 25b. Tisha beAv. Aicha. Ayeh makom kevodo. Where is the path to teshuva?
06:00 – Why Moshiach is born on Tisha beAv.
07:00 – תיקו – “Teku:” (Aramaic for “let it stand”). When Eliyahu HaNavi is revealed, he will resolve all questions. Teku implies lack of Tikun. When we’re not in a state of tikkun, we say Kinos to the mourn on Tisha BeAv.
*09:00 – Eventually the letters of the Kinos will be rearranged to tikkun. Reference to Likutey Moharan 247.
10:00 – Olam HaTikkun – when all questions are answered, all doubts are resolved.
12:00 – The crying and mourning of Tisha beAv result in the transformation of kinos to tikkun and the path to teshuva is revealed.
15:00 – Q&R about joy during the 3 Weeks. Arizal in Pri Etz Chaim: “If a Jew is not besimcha when he prays, it’s like a servant wearing a sad face when presenting something to his king.” There’s a difference between broken heart and depression.
19:30 – PARAGRAPH 26. “Nachamu nachamu Ami…” – נַֽחֲמ֥וּ נַֽחֲמ֖וּ עַמִּ֑י יֹאמַ֖ר אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶֽם – “Console, console my People” (Yeshaya 40:1).
22:40 – שַׁלֵּ֤חַ תְּשַׁלַּח֙ אֶת־הָאֵ֔ם וְאֶת־הַבָּנִ֖ים תִּקַּח־לָ֑ךְ – “You shall send away the mother, and [then] you may take the young for yourself” (Devarim 22:7, Ki Seitzei).
23:00 – וַתֵּלַ֣כְנָה שְׁתֵּיהֶ֔ם – “They both went…” (Rus 1:19). “Both” alludes to the two Hey’s in Shem HaShem.
26:45 – “Nachamu nachamu Ami alludes to the merging of the lower Shekhina and upper Shekhina.
27:40 – PARAGRAPH 27. Chalitza. Why the widow spits during the chalitza process. Saliva refines the food being ingested and helps the digestive process.
*31:00 – When a person doesn’t have emunas chokhomim, it’s as if his words are mosros – waste matter. Lack of emunas chokhamim blocks a person’s ability to digest food and the person’s thinking becomes undecided and clouded. Atzos noshim.
35:00 – Reference to Hilkhos Gittin 3:15“Zos HaTorah – Adam”.
38:00 – The union between husband and wife is completed in stages – zivug haneshikin leads to zivug haguf.
43:00 – Saliva helps the process of birth and spiritual renewal.
44:00 – The face of the niftar is in the spit of the chalitza.
45:00 – וְכָל־בָּנַ֖יִךְ לִמּוּדֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה וְרַ֖ב שְׁל֥וֹם בָּנָֽיִךְ – “And all your children shall be students of HaShem, and your children’s peace shall increase” (Yeshaya 54:13).
*47:00 – PARAGRAPH 28. Wondrous concepts are found in every part of a human being. The 613 mitzvos correspond to the 613 parts of the human body.
51:00 – Q&R about Rebbe Nachman’s opposition to doctors. This doesn’t mean a person shouldn’t consult with medical professionals when needed.
