HaOsey Shaliach Ligbos Chovo 3 – Parshas VaEira – Purim – Moshe Rabbeinu – The Tzaddik Is the Conduit for Hashem’s Ruach Chaim – Ten Plagues – Mateh – Malach Mem Tess – Four Elements – Zodiac – Amalek Yad Al Kis KaH – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
Hilkhos HaOsey Shaliach Ligbos Chovo 3 is based on Likutey Moharan 8
00:00 – PARAGRAPH 3. Purim. Ruach Chaim. Moshe Rabbeinu. The tzaddik is the conduit for Hashem’s ruach chaim in the world.
19:00 – PARAGRAPH 4. The Ten Plagues. Hashem is the source of life and He infuses it into the world via the tzaddik.
21:00 – Shimshom’s riddle: from strength comes sweetness.
***23:30 – Parshas VaEira. The mateh – staff of Moshe Rabbeinu. The staff represents free choice.
24:30 – NOTE: the malach Mem Tess is the chief angel in heaven. He rules during the six weekdays. Shabbos is ruled by Hashem directly.
27:00 – Reference to Likutey Moharan 79.
29:00 – וַיִּבְלַ֥ע מַטֵּה־אַֽהֲרֹ֖ן אֶת־מַטֹּתָֽם – “…but Aaron’s staff swallowed their staffs” (Shemos 7:12, VaEira). The staff of Aharon swallowed up the snakes generated by the magicians of Mitzrayim.
***32:30 – The Ten Plagues corresponded to the four basic elements with which the world was created: Earth, Air, Fire, Water.
***35:00 – Through the Ten Plagues, Hashem demonstrated that He has perfect control over all the elements, and that He does so via the staff held by the tzaddik.
39:00 – The zodiac. The Egyptians worshiped sheep – the first sign of the zodiac. Therefore, Hashem struck at their belief system by commanding Am Yisrael to slaughter the korbon Pesach – a sheep.
41:40 – Q&R about belief in the zodiac – that is, worshiping the forces of nature rather than honoring the ultimate power of Hashem.
42:45 – PARAGRAPH 5. Parshas Yisro. עַתָּ֣ה יָדַ֔עְתִּי כִּֽי־גָד֥וֹל יְהוָֹ֖ה מִכָּל־הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים – “Now I know that Hashem is the great above all deities…” (Shemos 18:11, Yisro).
44:40 – PARAGRAPH 6. Amalek is a composite of all the negative character traits of all 70 root nations.
53:00 – To defeat Amalek, Moshe Rabbeinu prayed very much – his hands were outstretched in tefilah. The 10 types of pulse – ruach chaim – are in the hands.
55:20 – Amalek is an aspect of the Angel of Death – therefore Amalek keeps rising up again and again to oppose Am Yisrael and cannot be entirely defeated until the final geulah.
56:00 – Hashem Himself does battle against Amalek on behalf of Am Yisrael: כִּי־יָד֙ עַל־כֵּ֣ס יָ֔הּ – “…For there is a hand on the throne of Hashem…” (Shemos 17:16, Beshalach).
