Yayin Nesech 4 – Parshas Kedoshim – Honesty in Teshuvah Through Tefilah Hisbodedus – Seventy Faces of the Torah – Seventy Screams – Seventy Years of Life – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
Hilkhos Yayin Nesech 4 is based on Likutey Moharan 36.

00:00 – PARAGRAPH 16. It’s crucial to examine one’s intentions, words, and deeds with honesty.
08:45 – PARAGRAPH 17. Yearning and praying for HaShem’s guidance in life help a person achieve teshuvah.
11:40 – הוֹרֵ֚נִי יְהֹוָ֗ה דַּ֫רְכֶּ֥ךָ אֲהַלֵּ֥ךְ בַּֽאֲמִתֶּ֑ךָ יַחֵ֥ד לְ֜בָבִ֗י לְיִרְאָ֥ה שְׁמֶֽךָ – “Teach me Your way, Hashem; I shall walk in Your truth. Unify my heart to fear Your Name” (Tehillim 86:11).
16:19 – PARAGRAPH 18. Parshas Kedoshim. הוֹכֵ֤חַ תּוֹכִ֨יחַ֙ אֶת־עֲמִיתֶ֔ךָ וְלֹֽא־תִשָּׂ֥א עָלָ֖יו חֵֽטְא – “…You shall surely rebuke your fellow, but you shall not bear a sin on his account” (Vayikra 19:17, Kedoshim).
24:58 – PARAGRAPH 19. It’s important for a person to “own up” to a sin but we need HaShem’s help to appraise our behavior in a clear light.מִפִּ֤י עֶלְיוֹן֙ לֹ֣א תֵצֵ֔א הָֽרָע֖וֹת וְהַטּֽוֹב לטמַה־יִּתְאוֹנֵן֙ אָדָ֣ם חָ֔י גֶּ֖בֶר עַל־חֲטָאָֽו – מנַחְפְּשָׂ֤ה דְרָכֵ֨ינוּ֙ וְֽנַחְקֹ֔רָה וְנָשׁ֖וּבָה עַד־יְהֹוָֽה – “…by the command of the Most High, neither good nor evil come. Why should a living man complain? A man for his sins. Let us search and examine our ways, and let us return to HaShem” (Eicha 3:38-40). The process of teshuvah – returning to HaShem – is like climbing a ladder: progressing upward a step and then holding in place.
00:00 – נִשָּׂ֤א לְבָבֵ֨נוּ֙ אֶל־כַּפָּ֔יִם אֶל־אֵ֖ל בַּשָּׁמָֽיִם – “Let us lift up our hearts to our hands, to HaShem in heaven” (Eicha 3:41). Lifting up the heart alludes to tefilah with pleading and mesiras nefesh.
37:30 – HaShem heeds prayer when a person puts his soul into it (Taanis 8). Reference to Chayeh Moharan 595.
38:00 – Reference to 2Likutey Moharan 99.
*39:00 – The seventy screams described in Likutey Moharan 36 correspond to the seventy faces of the Torah.
00:00 – יותר ממה שהעגל רוצה לינוק הפרה רוצה להניק – “More than the calf wants to nurse, the cow wants to give milk”. This principle applies to the concept that more than we yearn for HaShem’s Torah, He yearns to shine into us the 70 Faces (dimensions) of the Torah. Receiving the Torah’s light requires preparation through tefilah, especially through the seventy screams.

00:00 – PARAGRAPH 20a. All of the above processes are facilitated by the true tzaddik.
