LH7-18-Sheluchin/ הלכות שלוחין

2025-10-03 – LH7 – CM1 – Sheluchin 5 – Para. 19-20 – Parshas Shemos

Sheluchin 5 – Parshas ShemosElisha HaNavi – Gechazi – The Final Redemption Depends on Searching for the Tzaddik Nevuah Ruach HaKodesh – Why Moshe Rabbeinu Was Reluctant to Lead Am Yisrael – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
Hilkhos Sheluchin 5 is based on 2Likutey Moharan 8.
00:00 – PARAGRAPH 19. The mistake of Elisha HaNavi with his student, Gechazi. וֶאֱלִישָׁע חָלָה אֶת־חָלְיוֹ אֲשֶׁר יָמוּת בּוֹ – “And Elisha became ill with the illness he was to die of…” (2Melachim 13:14). The Final Redemption depends on the Tzaddik – Nevuah – Ruach HaKodesh – Why Moshe Rabbeinu was reluctant to lead Am Yisrael.
05:00 – Reference to Likutey Moharan 18.
11:00 – Parshas Shemos. מִי אָנֹכִי כִּי אֵלֵךְ אֶל־פַּרְעֹה – “…who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh?” (Shemos 3:11, Shemos).
18:00 – וָאֹמַר לָךְ בְּדָמַיִךְ חֲיִי וָאֹמַר לָךְ בְּדָמַיִךְ חֲיִי – “…and I said to you, ‘With your blood, live,’ and I said to you, ‘With your blood, live'” (Yechezkel 16:6).
26:00 – Parshas Shemos. שְׁלַח־נָא בְּיַד־תִּשְׁלָח – “…send now whomever You will send” (Shemos 4:13, Shemos). Moshe Rabbeinu’s reluctance to accept HaShem’s mission kindled a need to search for the Tzaddik Emes that will last until the final redemption.
36:00 – NOTE on the holy Baal Shem Tov’s explanation: “A person who lives outside of Eretz Yisrael imagines they are far from HaShem, but they are actually close to HaShem.
38:00 – PARAGRAPH 20. וַיִּגַּשׁ גֵּיחֲזִי לְהָדְפָהּ – “…and Gehazi approached to push her away…” (2Melachim 4:27). When Gechazi lost Olam Haba, his teacher – Elisha HaNavi – was also punished for pushing him away. HaShem’s kindness is infinite, so a teacher is required to search for the good in Gechazi to the point that he’d be able to uplift Gechazi.
40:00 – NOTE heard from Rabbi Rosenfeld zal on the order of the Four Sons mentioned in Seder Pesach. The Arizal explains, any chokham who doesn’t have a rasha next to him isn’t a true chokham. An example of this is how Rebbe Nachman played chess with kofrim when he lived in Uman.
44:00 – וַיִּפֶן אַחֲרָיו וַיִּרְאֵם – “And he turned around and saw them…” (2Melachim 2:24). When Elisha HaNavi was insulted by a group of youths, he turned to look at them. Since he couldn’t see their good, he cursed them. HaShem made a miracle and created a forest from which came 2 bears that killed 42 of these youths.
48:00 – Why Eliyahu HaNavi is present at every Bris Milah and why the flood is called “Mei Noach”.
51:00 – Closing blessings for these four days between Yom Kippur and Sukkos.
53:00 – Q&R about dealing with seeing statues of Avoda Zara when traveling. Rabbi Rosenfeld zal did not permit his student to mekarev people who were engaged in anti-Torah missionary work.
