Rabbi Nachman of Breslov explains how Yetziyas Mitzrayim (Israel’s exodus from Egypt) was not just an event that happened in the past. This process of redemption takes place in the present, every day, in the life of each individual soul. False humility enslaves a person and keeps us imprisoned. When we break through illusions of low self worth and start to believe in ourselves and in the power of the tzaddikim, we’re free to really live.
