Pikadon 4 – Parshas KorachParshas Chukas – True Life Is Connecting Physical With Spiritual – Revival of the Dead – Parah Adumah – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
Hilkhos Pikadon 4 is based on Likutey Moharan 1.
00:00 – PARAGRAPH 21b. True life is chokhmah and sekhel. The main purpose of our lives will occur after techiyas hameysim – revival of the dead. Then, in the future, we’ll understand the sekhel in everything in this world – that will be our reward. A Jew lives forever by means of our connection to the Torah.
03:20 – True life is connecting chitzoniusguf/outer/body, with penimiusnefesh/inner/soul.
05:30 – For a Torah-observant Jew, death is like sleep, in that we awaken renewed after sleep.
13:15 – Q&R about techiyas hameysim. Death atones for certain things that cannot be fully atoned for during a lifetime.
15:20 – PARAGRAPH 22. Parshas Korach. “Moshe Rabbeinu” begematria is 613 – the entire Torah.
16:30 – וַיִּקַּח קֹרַח – “And Korach took…” (Bamidbar 16:1, Korach). Targum Unkelos: “Korach separated himself”. Korach asked questions that are not permitted – mitzvos are not “logical” – every mitzvah is a spiritual mystery that is accepted only via emunah.
21:00 – The spiritual reasons why a Levi serving in the Mishkan had to shave his entire body.
26:00 – Why the punishment of Korach was fitting for his rebellion against the Torah.
26:40 – “An evil person, even when ‘alive’, is considered dead” (Berakhos 18).
28:00 – ***Animals walk on four feet because they are connected with the earth, while human beings stand upright, because our true purpose is to connect heaven and earth.
30:00 – Q&R about why a Levi serving in the Mishkan had to remove his beard and peyos.
31:20 – PARAGRAPH 23. Why Parshas Korach is followed immediately by Parshas Chukas.
34:40 – Parah Adumah is the epitome of tzimtzum.
36:30 – Secrets of the cedar, hyssop, and red thread that are elements of the Parah Adumah offering.
39:40 – מים – Water represents chesed and sekhel.
43:00 – Q&R about Naval being a reincarnation of Bilaam.
47:00 – Closing blessings.
