On the Tenth of Teves 5605 (December 20, 1844) Rav Nosson ben Chayah Laneh / b’Reb Naftali Hertz ז”ל Sternhartz returned his pure soul to the Creator. Through his prolific writing, Rav Nosson of Nemirov made it possible for the teachings of Rebbe Nachman to reach every one of us today. Commemorative shiur given by Rabbi Zvi Aryeh Rosenfeld ז”ל on the 10th of Teves, 5731 (Jan. 1971)

During his last hours in this world Rav Nosson spoke of the three elements that define a Breslover chossid:
1) Going to Uman for Rosh Hashanah
2) Studying the Shulchan Arukh every day
3) Doing hisbodedus – praying in solitude – every day.
