Rabbi Shimshon ben Pesach Ostropoli zal (1599-1648) wrote commentaries on the kabbalistic work Ḳarnayim and on the Zohar HaKodesh. One of his most famous Divrei Torah is ‘Maamar Sod Eztba Elokim’ about the mystical aspects of the 10 Plagues in Mitzrayim. He assures blessings of success and protection from harm to all those that study it, especially on Erev Pesach. He wrote: “Those who engage with this text are assured protection from accidents, disasters, or untimely deaths throughout the year, with all their endeavors destined for success.”
