Shutafim beKarka 5 – Chalukas Shutafim – Sins Are a Burden – Daas – Ben veTalmid – Parnassah – Matzranus – Property Rights – Boundaries – Story About the Power of Silence – Parshas Pinchas – Air of Eretz Yisrael – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
Hilkhos Shutafim beKarka 5 is based on 2Likutey Moharan 7.
00:00 – PARAGRAPH 13. Chalukas Shutafim. Sins are a burden that interfere with parnassah. Daas helps a person rid themselves of sins and therefore helps a person achieve true wealth.
15:00 – Q&R about robots taking over jobs. Automation does not give a person the daas to use time wisely. In fact, advances in technology often make life more difficult, spiritually.
17:30 – PARAGRAPH 14. Matzronos. Property Rights. Boundaries. A neighbor who shares a property boundary has first rights in purchasing that property.
24:00 – ***NOTE – story heard from Rabbi Rosenfeld zal – how a chassidish Rebbe defended a widow simply through his silence.
28:00 – Parshas Pinchas. יִפְקֹ֣ד יְהֹוָ֔ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י הָֽרוּחֹ֖ת לְכָל־בָּשָׂ֑ר אִ֖ישׁ עַל־הָֽעֵדָֽה – “Let HaShem, Master of spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation” (Bamidbar 27:16, Pinchas). A qualified leader of Am Yisrael must have the ability to relate to the vast differences between every Jew.
32:00 – וְיָֽדַעְתָּ֣ הַיּ֗וֹם וַֽהֲשֵֽׁבֹתָ֘ אֶל־לְבָבֶ֒ךָ֒ כִּ֤י יְהֹוָה֙ ה֣וּא הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים בַּשָּׁמַ֣יִם מִמַּ֔עַל וְעַל־הָאָ֖רֶץ מִתָּ֑חַת אֵ֖ין עֽוֹד – “And you shall know this day and consider it in your heart, that HaShem is Master in heaven above, and upon the earth below; there is none else” (Devarim 4:39, VaEschanan).
33:30 – Every person has particular limit to his daas. Reference to 2Likutey Moharan 5.
35:10 – PARAGRAPH 15. A Jew’s portion in Eretz Yisrael is defined by his daas.
37:00 – “The air of Eretz Yisrael makes one wise”.
42:00 – Parshas Shoftim. ***Even though we interact with others to “civilize the Land” it’s very important not to look closely into what another person has. Most arguments and unjustified hate originate from looking at the mistakes of others. Broadcasting negativity and judgement attracts the negativity and judgement of others, as in לֹ֤א תַסִּיג֙ גְּב֣וּל רֵֽעֲךָ֔ אֲשֶׁ֥ר גָּֽבְל֖וּ רִֽאשֹׁנִ֑ים בְּנַֽחֲלָֽתְךָ֙ – “You shall not pull back your neighbor’s landmark, which the earlier ones have set as borders in your inheritance…” (Devarim 19:14, Shoftim).
46:00 – NOTE about sinas chinam – unwarranted hatred originates from putting others “under a magnifying glass”.
47:00 – “Do not judge another until you have reached his place” (Avos 2:4).
51:00 – Every person’s perception of HaShem is entirely unique, as in כִּ֚י אֲנִ֣י יָדַעְתִּי כִּֽי־גָד֣וֹל יְהֹוָ֑ה – “For I know that HaShem is great…” (Tehillim 135:5). Reference to Sichos HaRan 1.
52:00 – Closing blessings.
