Sheluchin 3 – Man Is HaShem’s Messenger – Laws of Nature – Free Will – Malakh Mem Tess – Rav Noson’s Pre-Dawn Tefilah While Traveling in a Wagon – Mochin deGadlus – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
Hilkhos Sheluchin 3 is based on Likutey Moharan 51 – “Mayim Mayim” and is also based on Likutey Moharan 4.
- 00:00 PARAGRAPH 3b.
- 12:45 PARAGRAPH 4. Man was created to be a shaliach for HaShem. If we do not accomplish our mission in this world, when we reach Olam HaBa – מָה־אָשִׁ֥יב שֹׁלְחִ֖י דָּבָֽר – “…what shall I reply to Him that sent me?”(2Shmuel 24:13). Accomplishing the mission successfully unites the Sender and the messenger into One.
- 17:35 ***NOTE – Story about Rav Noson of Nemirov zal traveling through the predawn countryside in a coach and singing his tefilos. A student who was with him describes how all of creation seemed to be rushing to join his prayer.
- 19:02 PARAGRAPH 5. Ikar Koach Tefilah – Malakh Mem Tess.
- 24:11 NOTE: Rabbi Nachman Tcherin zal explains how the account of “Rebbi Mier and the Pomegranate” describes the function of the Malakh Mem Tess.
- 26:00 Free choice is enabled through the Malakh Mem Tess. The “Laws of Nature” facilitate free will.
- 31:54 PARAGRAPH 6. אמת unites the messenger with the sender. If a person changes אמת to שקר he is no longer a shaliach for HaShem. Sheker includes all evil. The last letters of the first three words of the Torah are Emes, and the letters of [end – check recording] of the Torah spell Emes. Truth is Am Yisrael’s “mission statement”.
- 37:42 PARAGRAPH 7. A non-Jew cannot be a shaliach for a Jew, because non-Jews do not believe in the direct supervision of HaShem.
- 42:00 Shalichus for HaShem is only the mission of Am Yisrael because we are one with HaShem. Explanation of “HaShem Hu HaElokim”.
- 41:23 PARAGRAPH 8. A katan – child – cannot be a shaliach. Explanation of Mochin deGadlus. Am Yisrael is called “Am Gadol” when we have faith in HaShem. Emunah is achieved and strengthened through tefilah.
- 45:30 ***Mochin deGadlus is believing in Hashgacha Pratis – direct supervision of HaShem. A person who does not believe in HaShem’s direct supervision is called a Katan. Mochin deKatnus is belief in the “Laws of Nature”.
- 47:49 *Ain Ohd Milavod is Mochin deGadlus.
- 48:19 Q&R about a non-Jew serving as a shaliach. Heard from Rabbi Zvi Aryeh Rosenfeld zal: there is a special Gan Eden for non-Jews who follow the 7 Mitzvos of Bnei Noach.
- 50:17 Closing blessings.
