Onaah 3 – Why Only Dovid HaMelech Could Find the Site of the Beis HaMikdash – Tefilah – Chukim – Final Redemption is Geulah Shel Tefilah – Limud Torah Is Not Enough – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.

00:00 – PARAGRAPH 2b. Why Only Dovid HaMelech could find the site of the Beis HaMikdash. Tefilah. זְכוֹר־יְהוָה לְדָוִד אֵת כָּל־עֻנּוֹתוֹ – “…O HaShem, remember unto David all his affliction…” אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּע לַיהוָה נָדַר לַאֲבִיר יַעֲקֹב – “That he swore to HaShem, he vowed to the Mighty One of Yaakov” (Tehillim 132:1-2).
10:22 – וַתֵּרֶד פְּלָאִים אֵין מְנַחֵם לָהּ – “…and she fell astonishingly with none to comfort her…” (Eicha 1:9).
12:00 – The suffering of Dovid HaMelech reflects the suffering of Am Yisrael, as in זְכוֹר־יְהוָה לְדָוִד אֵת כָּל־עֻנּוֹתוֹ – “…O HaShem, remember unto David all his affliction…” (Tehillim 132:1).
14:30 – The power to stand is only through tefilah. “Ain amida eleh tefilah.”
15:00 – עֹמְדוֹת הָיוּ רַגְלֵינוּ בִּשְׁעָרַיִךְ יְרוּשָׁלִָם – “Our feet were standing within your gates, O Jerusalem” (Tehillim 122:2).
16:50 – A person must hold on to both Torah and Tefilah. “If a person experiences a decline in Torah, his tefilah will sustain him. If a person experiences a decline in tefilah he can hold onto his limud Torah.

19:00 – Q&R – Whys is this vital fact about the important of tefilah not known in the Torah world? Tefilah is in present times degraded, as in כְּרֻם זֻלּוּת לִבְנֵי אָדָם “…that which seems lowliest to the sons of men is elevated” (Tehillim 12:9). ***Biographical note about Rabbi Michel Dorfman zal – Tefilah is a blind spot even in the Torah-observant community.

45:30 – ***Even if a person falls away from Torah, he can still return to HaShem through tefilah. This is the concept of the final redemption. When this redemption comes, there will never be another exile for Am Yisrael. This final redemption is called a geulah of tefilah. Limud Torah is not enough.
