Kiley Beheyma 4 – The Menorah Is Made from One Solid Piece of Gold – Ohr HaEmes – Light of Truth – Tikkun Halakha – Unity of the Torah – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
Hilkhos Kiley Beheyma 4 is based on Likutey Moharan 2.
00:00 – Dedications.
01:00 – PARAGRAPH 17. The menorah was made from one solid piece of gold because it embodies Ohr HaEmes.
04:15 – PARAGRAPH 18. The Arizal brings that on Chanukah we repair the harm done to Yaakov Avinu’s leg when he fought with the angel of Esav. The legs correspond to the supporters of Torah and to Halakha.
08:10 – The sun shone even at night for Yaakov Avinu during his struggle with the angel of Esav.
08:45 – Q&R – Pegam Halakha – Tikkun Halakha – “Damage to Halakha” – is when the psak halakha is unclear.
10:00 – PARAGRAPH 19. Parashas HaNesiyimMoshe Rabbeinu heard the voice of HaShem speaking to him from “Between the Keruvim”. This possuk is an example of “the third, which resolves two preceding possukim which seem to contradict one another”. This is the 13th Principles Through Which the Torah is Expounded. This corresponds to the 13 Midos HaRachamim.
15:45 – Just as each letter of the Alef Beis is different, so their combinations are different. They are the root of the diversity in the world, since HaShem creates the world through these letters and words.
19:00 – Unity of the Torah. Resolution of seeming contradictions in the Torah.
22:00 – Makhlokes beKedusha sweetens negative judgements. Reference to Likutey Moharan 277.
25:50 – אלו ואלו דברי אלהים חיים – “These and these are words of the Living G-d…” (Eruvin 13b). Divrei Elokim Chaim – roshei tievos “Echad”. Two opinions about the meaning of the “Tzohar” – source of light in Teivas Noach. The Torah of some people is like a window, allowing light to pass through it. The Torah of others is like a precious gem, radiating light.
30:00 – Makhlokes Shammai Hillil – reshei teivos “Moshe”. Reference to 2Likutey Moharan 2.
32:00 – NOTE – Darkness helps a person appreciate light.
33:00 – PARAGRAPH 20. בְּרָב־עָ֥ם הַדְרַת־מֶ֑לֶךְ – “The King’s glory is in a multitude of people…” (Mishlei 14:28).
35:00 – NOTE about how the gathering in Uman for Rosh Hashanah increases the honor of HaShem.
37:00 – The full light of the Shekhina is not revealed unless there is a gathering of 22,000 people. If one person is missing, the light is not as great as when all 22,000 are present. (Yevamos 64).
39:00 – NOTE – the importance of praying with a minyan and learning Torah in a group.
40:00 – NOTE – Parashas HaShavuah – Beshalach. The increasing prominence of praying at kivrei tzaddikim.
