00:00 – PARAGRAPH 3b. Makhlokes against the Tzaddik leads to makhlokes in Am Yisrael and causes wars throughout the world. The Tzaddik is able to bring shalom, but when people oppose him, there is no one else qualified to bring peace. Just as every person’s face is different, so their opinions are different.
02:40 – The more conflict there is in the world, the greater the Taavos Mamon.
04:00 – ***When two Jews join together in friendship and peace, this enables both of them to achieve Tikkun HaBris and Tikkun Taavos Mamon. Excessive desire for wealth includes being anxious or stressed about money. וְעַמֵּךְ֙ כֻּלָּ֣ם צַדִּיקִ֔ים – “And your people, all of them righteous…” (Yeshaya 60:21).
11:00 – טוֹבִ֥ים הַשְּׁנַ֖יִם מִן־הָֽאֶחָ֑ד אֲשֶׁ֧ר יֵֽשׁ־לָהֶ֛ם שָׂכָ֥ר ט֖וֹב בַּֽעֲמָלָֽם – “Two are better than one, since they have good reward for their toil” (Koheles 4:9). Nekuda tova – The aspect of tzaddik in one Jew can unite with the aspect of tzaddik in another. Reference to Likutey Moharan 34. A partnership founded in peace will protect each partner from Taavas Mamon.
13:40 – A business partnership is only created through kinyan – a written document or some other form of action of the hands. A verbal agreement does not establish a partnership.
16:00 – לְשָׂשׂ֣וֹן וּלְשִׂמְחָ֔ה וּֽלְמֹֽעֲדִ֖ים טוֹבִ֑ים וְהָֽאֱמֶ֥ת וְהַשָּׁל֖וֹם אֱהָֽבוּ – “…for joy and happiness and for happy holidays-but love truth and peace” (Zecharia 8:19). Truth and peace are one.
16:10 – PARAGRAPH 4. Kinyan Sudar. A chatan obligates himself to the terms of a wedding contract through Kinyan Sudar. Boaz and Rus.
19:00 – Money is associated with the feet. In the word אמת every letter has “two feet”. In the word שקר each letter stands only on “one foot”. Begematria, the word נעל (shoe) is 150 which is an expansion of HaShem’s Name “Ekyeh” – Aleph – Hey – Yud – Hey. Reference to Likutey Moharan 21 and reference to Likutey Moharan 35.

Ashrei. סוֹמֵ֣ךְ יְ֖הֹוָה לְכָל־הַנֹּֽפְלִ֑ים וְ֜זוֹקֵ֗ף לְכָל־הַכְּפוּפִֽים – “HaShem supports all those who fall and straightens all who are bent down” – עֵ֣ינֵי כֹ֖ל אֵלֶ֣יךָ יְשַׂבֵּ֑רוּ וְאַתָּ֚ה נוֹתֵֽן־לָהֶ֖ם אֶת־אָכְלָ֣ם בְּעִתּֽוֹ – “Everyone’s eyes look to You with hope, and You give them their food in its time” (Tehillim 145:14-15).
25:40 – There is no possuk for the letter Noon in Ashrei because it is the first letter in נפילה. Reference to the Sipurey Maasios – The Master of Prayer – The Country That Fell into Taavas Mamon.
32:50 – Taavos Mamon is the main problem today.
36:50 – Talmud Bavli on Eicha: “She fell; she will not fall again…” The desire for wealth includes “being worried” about money. Preoccupation about money is self-destructive and an aspect of Avoda Zara. The Tzaddik guides Am Yisrael out of the excessive desire for wealth.
41:50 – Tefilah asking HaShem to free Am Yisrael from all the wrong kinds of desires, especially from Taavos Mamon.

44:20 – BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE about Rabbi Yisrael Abba baR Yehudah Aryeh Rosenfeld zal whose yahrzeit is tomorrow, the 22nd of Av. R’ Yisrael Abba was a leader in establishing Breslov chassidus in the U.S. When he passed away at the age of 63, his son, Rabbi Tzvi Aryeh Rosenfeld zal, carried on his strong connection with the elders of Breslov in Yerushalayim and became a co-founder of the Breslov Yeshiva in Yerushalayim.
