LH7-18-Sheluchin/ הלכות שלוחין

2025-09-04 – LH7 – CM1 – Sheluchin 4 – Para. 16-18a – Bereishis – Vayeira – Yisro

Sheluchin 4 – BereishisVayeira Yisro – The 4 Sounds of the Shofar – Place and Above Place – Sipurey Maasios – 7 Beggars – Day 4 – Hunchback Beggar – Tree with 3 Roots – Horns of the Ram – Etz HaChaimTeshuvah – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
Hilkhos Sheluchin 4 is based on 2Likutey Moharan 1.
00:00 – Am Yisrael can rise from מקום – the concept of “Place” – to the aspect of למעלה מהמקום – “Above Place” – through the 4 sounds of the shofar.
02:30 – *Sipurey Maasios – Story of the 7 Beggars – Day 4 – The Hunchback Beggar was able to rise to the level of existence “Above Place”. The Ilan – tree – in the story has 3 roots: Yirah, Emunah, Anava. Its trunk is Emes. This Ilan represents the Etz HaChaim, which is an aspect of Kisey HaKavod – the source of all souls.
06:30 – The 4 sounds of the shofar correspond to the 4 elements of the Etz HaChaim – Tree of Life: Yirah, Emunah, Anava, Emes.
15:40 – אֱמֶת מֵאֶ֣רֶץ תִּצְמָ֑ח – “Truth will sprout from the Land…” – (Tehillim 85:12).
19:00 – *Parshas Vayeira. During Akeidas Yitzchak – The horns of the ram were caught in a tree, hinting at the connecting between the shofar and the Etz HaDaas.
20:30 – Q&R – The power of tefilah is available to all Jews, depending on his level.
22:40 – PARAGRAPH 18. Traveling to the tzaddik is an aspect of “Above Place”. Traveling to do a mitzvah is also an aspect of “Above Place”.
25:48 – PARAGRAPH 17. Parshas Bereishis. [Went back, had skipped this paragraph in the shiur.] וַיְגָ֖רֶשׁ אֶת־הָֽאָדָ֑ם וַיַּשְׁכֵּן֩ מִקֶּ֨דֶם לְגַן־עֵ֜דֶן אֶת־הַכְּרֻבִ֗ים וְאֵ֨ת לַ֤הַט הַחֶ֨רֶב֙ הַמִּתְהַפֶּ֔כֶת לִשְׁמֹ֕ר אֶת־דֶּ֖רֶךְ עֵ֥ץ הַֽחַיִּֽים – “And He drove the man out, and He stationed from the east of the Garden of Eden the keruvim and the blade of the revolving sword, to guard the way to the Tree of Life” (Bereishis 3:24, Bereishis). On Rosh Hashanah Adam ate from the Etz HaDaas. He was evicted from Gan Eden in order to block the path to the Etz HaChaim. To reach its ultimate goal, every soul must return to the Etz HaChaim.
28:50 – The Etz HaChaim can only be reached through teshuvah and tefilah, as in מִמַּֽעֲמַקִּ֖ים קְרָאתִ֣יךָ יְהֹוָֽה – “…From the depths I have called to You, HaShem”“…mimaamakim kerasika HaShem” (Tehillim 130).
31:00 – Kol Tefilah connects “Place” to “Above Place” because Kol Tefilah originates from the “Breath of Life”.
33:30 – Parshas Yisro. At Matan Torah, Am Yisrael was able to see Kol, as in וְכָל־הָעָם֩ רֹאִ֨ים אֶת־הַקּוֹלֹ֜ת – “And all the people saw the sounds…” (Shemos 20:15, Yisro).
34:00 – Moshe Rabbeinu heard the Kol of HaShem from between the Keruvim.
38:00 – ***The sound of the shofar is two-directional: it travels both from HaShem to us, and from us to HaShem. All tefilos rise up with the sound of the shofar.
42:00 – PARAGRAPH 18. כִּ֚י שָׁ֨מָּה | יָֽשְׁב֣וּ כִסְא֣וֹת לְמִשְׁפָּ֑ט – “…For there were set thrones for judgment” (Tehillim 122:5).
46:00 – When HaShem judges the world on Rosh HaShanah, He does so from the aspect of “Above Place”.
48:20 – Closing blessings.
