Sheluchin 5 – Parshas Ki Sisa – Vayelech – Isarusa Dilesata – Beirur HaMedameh – The Tzaddik Lives Forever – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
Hilkhos Sheluchin 5 is based on 2Likutey Moharan 8.
00:00 – PARAGRAPH 8b. Isarusa Dilesata – Awakening from Below – precedes HaShem’s intervention in the physical world from Above. Beirur HaMedameh – getting free of illusion.
13:30 – Q&R – Purifying the Medameh is done through Torah and tefilah. Receiving Torah from the Tzaddik strengthens emunah and provides greater clarity of vision.
14:30 – PARAGRAPH 9. Four stages in the process of Beirur HaMedameh.
24:00 – PARAGRAPH 10. Parshas Ki Sisa. וַיַּ֣רְא הָעָ֔ם כִּֽי בשֵׁ֥שׁ משֶׁ֖ה לָרֶ֣דֶת מִן־הָהָ֑ר וַיִּקָּהֵ֨ל הָעָ֜ם עַל־אַֽהֲרֹ֗ן וַיֹּֽאמְר֤וּ אֵלָיו֙ ק֣וּם | עֲשֵׂה־לָ֣נ – “When the people saw that Moses was late in coming down from the mountain…” (Shemos 32:1, Ki Sisa). The Erev Rav misled Am Yisrael when Moshe Rabbeinu was on Har Sinai.
31:00 – PARAGRAPH 11. Parshas Vayelech. The Tzaddik lives forever. כִּ֣י אָֽנֹכִ֤י יָדַ֨עְתִּי֙ אֶת־מֶרְיְךָ֔ וְאֶת־עָרְפְּךָ֖ הַקָּשֶׁ֑ה – “For I know your rebellious spirit and your stubbornness…” Devarim 31:27-29, Vayelech).
35:45 – וַיַּֽעֲבֹ֚ד יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֶת־יְהֹוָ֔ה כֹּ֖ל יְמֵ֣י יְהוֹשֻׁ֑עַ וְכֹ֣ל | יְמֵ֣י הַזְּקֵנִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר הֶֽאֱרִ֚יכוּ יָמִים֙ אַֽחֲרֵ֣י יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ – “And Israel served HaShem all the days of Yehoshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Yehoshua…” (Yehoshua 24:31). Throughout the lifetime of Yehoshua, Am Yisrael served HaShem without rebelling. The Tzaddik never dies, even if it seems to us that he left.
38:00 – The Tzaddik lives on in his students.
41:30 – וַיִּזְכֹּ֥ר יְמֵֽי־עוֹלָ֖ם מֹשֶׁ֣ה עַמּ֑וֹ – “And His people remembered the days of old, [the days of] Moshe…” (Yishaya 63:11).
44:30 – Closing blessings for Erev Rosh Hashanah. Later today Rabbi Maimon is scheduled to travel to Uman via Moldavia, b’ezras HaShem. He asks that everyone keep in their prayers all those taking part in the Uman Rosh Hashanah gathering.
