2025-10-20 – LH7 – CM1 – Sheluchin 5 – Para. 34-35 – Parshas Beshalach

Sheluchin 5 – Parshas BeshalachEliyahu HaNaviElisha HaNavi – Horse and Chariot – A Tzaddik Lives Forever – Beirur HaMedameh Through Limud Torah – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
Hilkhos Sheluchin 5 is based on 2Likutey Moharan 8.
00:00 – PARAGRAPH 34. וְהִנֵּה רֶכֶב־אֵשׁ וְסוּסֵי אֵשׁ – “…and behold a fiery chariot and fiery horses…” (2Melachim 2:11). Eliyahu HaNaviElisha HaNavi – Horse and Chariot.
05:20 – Eliyahu HaNavi did not die. Chariot of Fire.
08:20 – *A tzaddik lives forever.
10:40 – Reference to Likutey Moharan 33 where Rebbe Nachman explains the possuk בְּיוֹם טוֹבָה הֱיֵה בְטוֹב וּבְיוֹם רָעָה רְאֵה “On a day of good, be among the good, and on a day of adversity, look…” (Koheles 7:14).
11:00 – Beirur HaMedameh. One of the best ways to repair the Medameh is through speaking words of Torah. When the imagination is repaired and a person is free of illusion, then everything else is repaired.
13:15 – Q&R about Eliyahuv HaNavi living forever and how it applies to us on a daily level: by educating students and children a person lives on after his passing. Every Jew has an obligation to learn nistar. אַל־תִּהְיוּ׀ כְּסוּס כְּפֶרֶד אֵין הָבִין – “Do not be like a horse or mule, lacking comprehension…” (Tehillim 32:9) refers to people who refuse to learn all four levels of PaRDeS – the Torah’s Pshat, Remez, Drush, and Sohd.
19:20 – Elisha HaNavi cried out “My father, my father,
20:50 – *NOTE – A tzaddik is a chariot for HaShem.
23:30 – NOTE about Parshas Bereishis – the mind is the main battlefield against the Yetzer HaRa.
25:00 – PARAGRAPH 35. Parshas Beshalach. לְסֻסָתִי בְּרִכְבֵי פַרְעֹה דִּמִּיתִיךְ רַעְיָתִי – “At the gathering of the steeds of Pharaoh’s chariots have I silenced you, my beloved” (Shir HaShirim 1:9). HaShem did battle against Mitzrayim through horses and chariots. Whatever weapons the Egyptians used against Am Yisrael, HaShem used against the Egyptians. “He took six hundred select chariots and all the chariots of Egypt…” (Shemos 14:7, Beshalach). The gematria in “Pharaoh took 600 horses…” alludes to Pharaoh’s gathering all the various forces of the Sutra Achra.
28:00 – HaShem does battle against the enemies of Am Yisrael by matching evil step for step.
31:30 – ***Every day a person is involved in a holy battle – the central battle throughout life – of Bilbul HaMedameh – illusion – vs. Emes – truth. This struggle is a war that can only be won by means of HaShem’s help.
36:00 – ***HaShem matches evil for evil rather than deliver one “knockout punch” in order to allow the functioning of free will in the world.
37:20 – Reference to Likutey Moharan 38.
40:00 – יְהוָה עִזּוּז וְגִבּוֹר יְהוָה גִּבּוֹר מִלְחָמָה – “HaShem is strong and mighty, HaShem is a mighty warrior” (Tehillim 24:8).
43:00 – NOTE – The Sutra Achra presents every individual with many various difficulties, but HaShem can rescue from all of them. Over the generations the Sutra Achra was given more and more power – especially through technology.
44:00 – NOTE – Rabbi Pinchas Teitz zal began a weekly radio program called “Daf HaShavuah” in 1953. He spearheaded the use of mass media to teach Torah, and had over 20,000 listeners, many of whom were Holocaust survivors. Using technology has negative aspects but can also be used to study Torah.
47:00 – *Q&R – How can we fight the evil aspects of technology? Torah, tefilah, and connection with a tzaddik.
50:00 – NOTE about Parshas Noach. The only people who were saved from the mabul were those who were connected with Noach.
54:40 – Closing notes.
