Tzitzis 7 – Eretz Yisrael – The Half-Shekel Tribute – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
This Hilkhos Tzitzis 7 is based on 2Likutey Moharan 8.
00:00 – PARAGRAPH 5. (Lesson 050a). Talis katan and talis gadol.
12:00 – PARAGRAPH 6. The essence of the ingathering of exiles is to Eretz Yisrael and Yerushalayim. The 613 mitzvos depend upon nachalas Yaakov – inheritance of the Land.
20:20 – PARAGRAPH 7. (Lesson 050b). What is a good neighbor? One who davens (prays) together with his community. Korach and his question about tzitzis and a talis techeles.
*25:28 – PARAGRAPH 8. Parshas Shekalim. Why do we count the People of Israel through the half shekel.
*38:48 – (Lesson 050c). The unification of souls in Israel creates a factorial increase in batim (structures/relationships). The half-shekels collected on Parshas Shekalim are used to benefit the construction and/or upkeep of the shul.
*55:40 – PARAGRAPH 9. (Lesson 050d). A half-shekel represents each soul, rather than a whole shekel, because a soul is only complete when it is in a relationship with another soul.
