Likutey Halakhos, Yoreh Deah 1, Ribis 5, Para. 14-15. Walking to a Tzaddik and to the Beis HaMikdash; Tehillim 122; Seventh Beggar; Spiritual Aspects of Feet/Traveling/Walking – הליכה ברגלין. Biographical Note. Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
Hilkhos Ribis 5 is based on Likutey Moharan 51.
00 – PARAGRAPH 14. The significance and importance of traveling to the tzaddik emes.
29 – וְהָאָ֖רֶץ הֲדֹ֣ם רַגְלָ֑י – “…and the earth is My footstool…” (Yeshaya 66:1). Faith in Hashem connects “Before Creation” with “After Creation”.  הַמַּגְבִּיהִ֥י לָשָֽׁבֶת – “…Who dwells on high…” – הַמַּשְׁפִּילִ֥י לִרְא֑וֹת בַּשָּׁמַ֥יִם וּבָאָֽרֶץ – “Who lowers [His eyes] to look in the heavens and the earth” (Tehillim 113:5-6).
54 – Reference to Likutey Moharan 51.
24 – Throughout all generations it’s been customary to travel to one’s Torah teacher.
*12:12 – שָׂ֖מַחְתִּי בְּאֹֽמְרִ֣ים לִ֑י בֵּ֖ית יְהֹוָ֣ה נֵלֵֽךְ – “…I rejoiced when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord’…” – עֹֽמְדוֹת הָי֣וּ רַגְלֵ֑ינוּ בִּ֜שְׁעָרַ֗יִךְ יְרֽוּשָׁלִָֽם – “Our feet were standing within your gates, O Jerusalem” (Tehillim 122:1-2).
42 – There is great merit in every step taken to do a mitzvah, as alluded to in מַה־יָּפ֧וּ פְעָמַ֛יִךְ בַּנְּעָלִ֖ים בַּת־נָדִ֑יב – “How fair are the footsteps you take in sandals…” (Shir HaShirim 7:2).
19 – Q&R about walking to a shul established in the name of a tzaddik. BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE about Rabbi Zvi Aryeh Rosenfeld ז”ל mentioning the “dust of Yaakov” with regard to R’ Maimon’s walking a considerable distance to attend his shiurim on Shabbos.
33 – יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֥ם הַבְּנוּיָ֑ה כְּ֜עִ֗יר שֶׁחֻבְּרָה־לָּ֥הּ יַחְדָּֽו – “The built-up Jerusalem is like a city that is united together” (Tehillim 122:3). The Upper Yerushalayim is merged with the Yerushalayim of the physical world through אמת – truth.
00 – Loshon Hara is associated with the feet, as in  לֹֽא־תֵלֵ֤ךְ רָכִיל֙ בְּעַמֶּ֔יךָ – “You shall not go as a gossip among Your People…” (Vayikra 19:16, Kedoshim).
22 – NOTE about the Sipurey Masiyos: the seventh beggar seems to have no feet and corresponds to the revelation of Moshiach.
00 – Rosh Hashanah. The tzaddik is the Rosh Bayis – master of the house. “Rosh Bnei Yisrael” is roshei teivos “Rebbe”.
00 – Q&R about how loshon hara – evil speech – causes a separation between the head and the feet.
45 – PARAGRAPH 15.
Any slander that does not begin with a truthful statement ultimately does not stand.” (Sotah 35a)
32 – BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE about Reb Michel Dorfman ז”ל – when he was asked about choosing a school for a child, he advised to look at the older children in that school, the graduates, and how they turn out to be.
00 – וְתַשְׁלֵ֚ךְ אֱמֶת֙ אַ֔רְצָה – “…and it will cast truth to the earth” (Daniel 8:12).
00 – תֵּֽאָלַ֗מְנָה שִׂפְתֵ֫י שָׁ֥קֶר הַדֹּֽבְר֖וֹת עַל־צַדִּ֥יק עָ֜תָ֗ק בְּגַֽאֲוָ֥ה וָבֽוּז – “Let lying lips become mute, those that speak against a righteous man falsely, with haughtiness and disdain” (Tehillim 31:19).
38 – וְאַל תַּאֲמִין בְּעַצְמְךָ עַד יוֹם מוֹתְךָ – “…do not trust in yourself until the day of your death…” (Pirkei Avos 2:4).
06 – NOTE warning against the dangers of excluding parts of the Torah, for example studying kabbalah without studying halakha.
57 – Repair of the world by MoshiachTzidkeynu depends on the “feet” of אמת.
