Pehter Chamor 2 – Tikkunei Atik – Arichas Yomim – Hisbonenus – Sohd HaIbur – Sheep Indicate Ashirus deKedusha – Holy Wealth – Sifsei KohenSipurei Maasios – Announcing Stories from Ancient Times – Shem Beis Yud TessTehillim 133 – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
Hilkhos Pehter Chamor 2 is based on Likutey Moharan 60.
00:00 – PARAGRAPH 2. Monetary wealth and Tikkunei AtikArichas Yomim – are prerequisites for hisbonenus – a greater depth of Torah understanding. Sohd HaIbur – intercalation of the lunar calendar – Bnei Yissachar.
05:00 – Sheep indicate ashirus dekedusha – kosher, holy wealth.
15:00 – PARAGRAPH 3. Why the pidyon is given to a kohen. The kohen represents the tzaddik of the generation. The kohen comes from shevet Levi, who were blessed by Moshe Rabbeinu as יוֹר֤וּ מִשְׁפָּטֶ֨יךָ֙ לְיַֽעֲקֹ֔ב וְתוֹרָֽתְךָ֖ לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל – “They shall teach Your ordinances to Jacob, and Your Torah to Israel…” (Devarim 33:10 VeZos HaBracha). Also in כִּֽי־שִׂפְתֵ֚י כֹהֵן֙ יִשְׁמְרוּ־דַ֔עַת וְתוֹרָ֖ה יְבַקְשׁ֣וּ מִפִּ֑יהוּ כִּ֛י מַלְאַ֥ךְ יְהֹוָֽה־צְבָא֖וֹת הֽוּא – “For a kohen’s lips shall guard knowledge, and teaching should be sought from his mouth, for he is a messenger of the Lord of Hosts” (Malachi 2:7).
20:00 – Q&R about Pehter Chamor in our present generation. It is still done, but occurs rarely since so few Jews raise donkeys.
21:00 – Q&R about a donkey – ashirus desutra achra – wealth of impurity. Sheep represent wealth of kedusha.
22:00 – The process of sotah – suspected wife – is performed by a kohen. This process enables an akara – childless woman – to give birth. Chana was blessed by Eli HaKohen.
25:00 – The Beis HaMikdash is a place of yirah. The blood sprinkled on the mizbeyach – alter – is an aspect of din – however the blood of the sacrifice removes the judgement of death, and instead lengthens the life of the one bringing the offering.
29:00 – וְעָֽרְבָה֙ לַֽיהֹוָ֔ה מִנְחַ֥ת יְהוּדָ֖ה וִירֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם כִּימֵ֣י עוֹלָ֔ם וּכְשָׁנִ֖ים קַדְמֹֽנִיּֽוֹת – “And then the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem shall be pleasant to HaShem, as in the days of old and former years” – (Malakhi 3:4). The concept of Atik and “Stories from Ancient Times.” “Ancient Stories” and service in the Beis HaMikdash enable people to awaken from spiritual sleep.
31:00 – The kohen gadol must be very wealthy and is anointed with holy oil to attain Tikkunei Atik – the higher levels of sechel.
34:30 – “The oil on your head should never be lacking.”
35:30 – Q&R about the higher level of chokhmah hidden in the Sipurei Masiyos. Only those who are qualified are able to see the higher levels of light hidden in these stories. In those who might be harmed by this light, the light is hidden.
37:00 – כַּשֶּׁ֚מֶן הַטּ֨וֹב | עַל־הָרֹ֗אשׁ יֹרֵ֗ד עַל־הַזָּ֫קָ֥ן זְקַ֥ן אַֽהֲרֹ֑ן שֶׁ֜יֹּרֵ֗ד עַל־פִּ֥י מִדּוֹתָֽיו – “As the good oil on the head runs down upon the beard, the beard of Aaron, which runs down on the mouth of his garments” (Tehillim 133:2). “The holy beard of Aharon” alludes to Tikkunei Atik.
38:00 – כְּטַ֥ל חֶרְמ֗וֹן שֶׁיֹּרֵד֘ עַל־הַרְרֵ֪י צִ֫יּ֥וֹן כִּ֚י שָׁ֨ם | צִוָּ֣ה יְ֖הֹוָה אֶת־הַבְּרָכָ֑ה חַ֜יִּ֗ים עַד־הָֽעוֹלָֽם – “As the dew of Hermon which runs down on the mountains of Zion, for there HaShem commanded the blessing, life forever” (Tehillim 133:3). “As the dew of Mount Hermon…” alludes to the blessing of long life and wealth. A beard represents longevity.
41:00 – NOTE: The last words of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai zal were: כִּ֚י שָׁ֨ם | צִוָּ֣ה יְ֖הֹוָה אֶת־הַבְּרָכָ֑ה חַ֜יִּ֗ים עַד־הָֽעוֹלָֽם – “…for there HaShem commanded the blessing, eternal life” (Tehillim 133:30) to hint that he was departing from this world to enter another realm of life. When a tzaddik passes from Olam HaAsiya to Olam HaBah, his strength becomes even greater.
*42:00 – Blessing for the present month of Adar.
***43:30 – Q&R – A person receives an aspect of Tikkunei Atik even by simply by reading the Sipurei Masiyos, even if the deeper meaning is not understood. Announcing Sipurei Maasios – there is a custom of beginning and/or ending a shiur or chavrusa in Sipurei Maasios by reading the paragraph: “This is to reveal and proclaim/announce that these stories bring the light into the world.”
46:00 – A kohen was only permitted to bring the ketores once, to insure that all the kohanim would receive wealth.
50:00 – NOTE heard from Rabbi Rosenfeld zal – The Name of HaShem especially related to Tikkun HaBris is the Shem Beis Yud Tess. These are the Roshei Teyvos of Bezroah Yikabetz T— . Beis Yud Tess is begamtria E – K – Y – H – Binah – hisbonenus. ATBaSH of Beis Yud Tess is Shemen – which represents both a higher level of sechel, and Tikkun HaBris.
52:00 – PURIM: the golden scepter mentioned in Megillas Esther alludes to mastery in Tikkun HaBris“Sharvit” alludes to “Saar of Beis Yud Tess.”
53:00 – Q&R about the English term “bit” in present finances.
