Pehter Chamor 2 – Hisbonenus via Beis HaMikdashYirah – Sanhedrin – 70 Faces of the Torah – Wealth – Donkey – Yissachar – Yetzias Mitzraim Krias Yam Suf – Zeh Keyli – Oref vs. Face – Golden Calf – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
Hilkhos Pehter Chamor 2 is based on Likutey Moharan 60.
00:00 – PARAGRAPH 4. Beis HaMikdash was a center for yirah, therefore it was built with and contained tremendous wealth. “For a person who has daas, it’s as if the Beis HaMikdash was built in his lifetime.”
03:00 – From the Sanhedrin in the Beis HaMikdash, the 70 Faces of the Torah was radiated into the world.
04:00 – PARAGRAPH 5. Hisbonenus is achieved through holy wealth. A firstborn donkey represents wealth. Choni HaMaagal. Rashi on the mitzvah of Pehter Chamor.
11:00 – Am Yisrael carried away the wealth of Egypt on donkeys. Tikkun HaAtik is achieved through the kohen – shmiras habris – ashirus dekedusha. Yetzias Mitzrayim was achieved through Binah – hisbonenus. The 50 Gates of Binah correspond to the 50 times that Yetzias Mitzrayim is mentioned throughout the Chumash.
*15:00 – PARAGRAPH 6. Krias Yam Suf – Zeh Keyli. When HaShem split the Yam Suf, the Yam of Chokhma was also split and Am Yisrael was blessed with an outpouring of hisbonenus.
17:30 – “The sea saw… and fled…” The sea saw the merit of Yosef HaTzaddik and “fled.” Yosef HaTzaddik was the exemplification of shmiras habris, so in his merit, Am Yisrael received the wealth of Egypt and was rescued by means of the miracles at Yam Suf. Shmiras HaBris requires true yirah.
22:00 – NOTE on how the first word in the Written Torah, “Bereishis”, contains the words “Yiras HaShem”. To reach hisbonenus, the first step is yirah.
23:00 – Q&R about achieving ashirus dekedusha through yiras HaShem.
24:00 – PARAGRAPH 7. If firstborn donkey is not redeemed by giving a sheep to the kohen, then the donkey must be killed by striking it dead on the oref – back of the neck. This insures that the owner of the donkey will not be harmed by his wealth.
26:00 – Sipurei Maasios – Stories from Ancient Times – 70 Faces of the Torah. The oref is the opposite of the face.
28:00 – “Oref” is composed with the same letters as “Pharaoh”.
*30:00 – Ashirus deSutra Achra is an aspect of idol worship. אַ֜֗ף אֵ֖ין יֶשׁ־ר֣וּחַ בְּפִיהֶֽם – “…neither is there any breath in their mouth” (Tehillim 135:17). Reference to Likutey Moharan 23: Arichas haneshima vs. hefsake haneshima. Wealth that is not ashirus dekedusha is not truly wealth.
36:00 – Egal HaZahav – the sin of the golden calf – was a means to pegam habris.
38:00 – Q&R about why a person would not want to do the mitzvah of Pehter Chamor. Parallel to those who don’t want to give charity.
39:00 – PARAGRAPH 8. Holy wealth is received via the “Face of HaShem” – as in the Birkhas Kohanim. Through doing a pidyon, a person repairs and merits ashirus dekedusha.
48:00 – Q&R about strictness in Torah observance. NOTE about Rav Moshe Bursteyn zal’s strict observance of tznius – modesty. The importance of praying for and seeking guidance in how to do a mitzvah. Reference to Likutey Moharan 1.
55:00 – Closing blessings for our times.
56:00 – Q&R about solar eclipse approaching this Rosh Chodesh Nissan (5784).
