Shevat – Likutey Halakhos – Parshas Shekalim – Part 2 – How the Half-Shekel Offering Increases the Gathering of Souls

Shevat – Likutey Halakhos – How the Half-Shekel Offering Increases the Gathering of Souls – Speaker: Rabbi Nasan Maimon.
Text: Likutey Halakhos, Orach Chaim 1, Tzitzis 7, Para. 9.
On the Shabbos preceding (or falling on) Rosh Chodesh Adar we read Parshas Shekalim (Shemos/Exodus 30:11-16). The reading commemorates the half-shekel donation each Jew contributes during the month of Adar . This charity supported the public offerings in the Beis Hamikdash (Holy Temple). There’s a factorial increase in the number of soul-connections generated through members of Klal Yisrael joining together to do a mitzvah.
In light of Breslov chassidus, what is the deeper significance behind this mitzvah performed every Shevat/Adar, and how is this mitzvah done in our present generation?
